screwing into wall with components
We want to install a drop leaf shelf on the wall close to our slide out but the wall contains all the components and we are concerned about drilling into it. Is there a safe way to do this? We are new...

You also have to be concerned with the THIN RV walls. They are 1/4-board and screws will just pull through them...
You need to hit a stub or best bet is to install a back-board of 3/4 board across the wall where you want your shelf.. If your back board doesnt tie into any studs then perhaps you can use what they call MOLLY BOLTS in the four corners. These spread out behind the wall and give great support strength...
Then you can just use regular screws to mount your shelf into the back-board...
Something along this line of thinking like this HDTV is mounted...
