SanMarMor: Correction C Bears has the TPMS I use the old gauge myself. I was merely pointing out not to put all your trust in the valve stems. On the compressor note I bought the Harbour Freight six gallon 150 PSI to be able if needed to pump those high pressure Good Years. The other reason is when I go south for the winter I lower the pressure to 40 PSI on the duals on the truck after I get there, and bringing them back up to 65 PSI when time to haul the trailer was a painful deal with the one gallon 100PSI compressor. Getting those 125 PSI trailer tires made it easy to justify getting the larger compressor which works well for both sets of tires . If you watch the Harbour Freight adds the $139.00 six gallon compressor was on for $99.00. It works well and weighs about 40 lbs.

2x TPMS. We are leaving on a trip after lunch today, and I just turned mine on a bit ago, so they will have cycled and be reading. I will check them before we leave, and monitor them during the trip. They are great to ease your mind.

No but ambient air temperatures do changes pressures in tires by a lot more than you would think. That's why most tire manufactures recommend checking tire pressures at least monthly

Yes you want to match pressure to the load, plus just a little for cooler running.

The proper pressure is better for road hazard, traction, tire life, and ride in the trailer.

EDIT: Based on the weight you posted and the inflation chart I would run 100psi in each of the 4 tires, unless there is 1 corner that is much heavier than the others.

Thanks for the info folks. Since my last (and only) blowout of the G614 I read a bunch of threads, learned and became diligent that I always had them at 110psi (max cold psi) to carry our load. When fully loaded the two axles came in at 13,420. I came to the conclusion that I should always run tires (any tires) to carry their maximum load - regardless of whether my load was lighter than the max carrying capacity.

This thread is telling me to match my PSI to the load, which may not be the max PSI on the tire.

So if I have it right, I should always match my PSI to the load - or maybe a tiny bit more to get good tire wear and safe travels.

Have I got it right?

One other thought, after you weigh your rig and look at the tire charts to know what you need, look at the CFM rating on the compressors also. The more CFM it produces the quicker it will reach your PSI that you want/need.

I point this out because many compressors that will reach a higher PSI will do so will a low CFM and take forever to fill a large tire.

A friend has a real nice small Sears compressor, 175 psi, oil free pump on top of a small tank and it even has an unloading pressure switch/valve. The footprint is about 20 x 8 and about 16 tall. Craig
