- buckyExplorer IIWe need to remember that nobody makes their own parts anymore other than the mechanical aspects of the engines and transmissions and the sheet metal. So if it's junk, it's not Ram junk, or Chevy junk, or Ford junk. Or soon to be Toyota junk, or Nissan junk. It's supplier junk, and in the case of most of these newer diesels, it is Bosch junk.

This forum is so full of brand loyal fan boys ready to talk trash on someoneelse's product it is pretty sad. I am not going to go any farther.
Rare to here a ram owner telling it like is.
Really no good reason to talk trash about anything others buy. It is their problem either good or not good. I have not seen a perfect truck yet.
chevman - Swamp_ManExplorerAll brands at one time or the other have their problems. Rather than bash the other brands, I would find it more sensible to stand together and help the other guy fix his truck. If you were broken down on the side of the road, in a dangerous area, cold, and raining would you really care if the Dodge, Ford, or Chevy stopped to help you? I for one blame a lot of this foolishness on the big three and their constant upgrading towing ranging. A half ton truck towing 10,000 pounds (safely)? I have had problems with our Ford, just as others have had problems with their Dodge or Chevy. I think we need to stick together and help the other guy rather than bashing him for his choice of vehicle.

Not as rare as a Ford owner telling it like it is. When a Ford owner opens up the other Ford owners jump all over him/her. Loose a CP4-2 injection pump and see if Ford tries to blame you and the fuel you put in it.
I have owned two Dodge RAMs and would skip over the 2007.5-2012 model years. But I still would skip over the GM's in similar years, plus the LLY's and for FORD anything after a 7.3!
The new GM's have the same Bosch injection pump as Ford, however they warranty them without blaming the user.
The RAM/Cummins is still using the more reliable CP3 Bosch pump.
Chris - southernskyExplorerMine had a check light and the reason was the O2 harness. Dealer ordered the harness, while waiting for it to come in the light went out. Had it changed anyway under warranty.
- 2008WildcatExplorerYeah, delete everything and no issues since....
Runs better, better mileage, and no engine/emissions issue since.
All that******"fell off" at 3500 miles on the odometer. - notevenExplorer III

& issue may be under emission system warranty. - Kevin_ToddExplorerI agree about brand loyal folks. I bought my first Dodge 2500 in 2002. Still driving it. No issues. Truck has 250,000 miles now and with the exception of brakes and shocks, it is still original. Thought about trading, but why? 22 mpg empty and pulls anything it's hooked to. Yeah...those Dodge trucks are junk....
- B_O__PlentyExplorer III've never been brand loyal. I've owned all of them. Some were great some weren't. I spent most of my working days in an automotive service department. Saw lots of good vehicles and plenty of lemons. Only a fool would think his favorite brand is always going to be the best made. Every manufacturer comes up with some bad ideas from time to time.
