Same here....I've not noticed a "shutter" when towing or empty....Tires are aired to recommended psi per door sticker...5er, loaded to 16,200# and when I take off either empty or towing, I haven't felt anything like OP is talking about and my truck is a 13' dually...I give throttle gradually and beild my speed up...no shutter....... - Cummins12V98Explorer III

FYI after a year of rear end shake when taking off from a stop and numerous attempts to repair Chryslers says this is normal SO BEWARE OF 3500 DIESEL PICKUPS
Is your rear axle 4:10, 3:73 or 3:42? - Bamaman11ExplorerWith an 80 hp chip on my F250, stomping on the throttle makes it feel like the rear end's going to come out.
I put a set of Air Rides on the rear end 2 weeks ago, and while the ride's a little firmer, the truck feels better. I can also feel the front end suspension better with the back end firmed up slightly (11 lbs. pressure unloaded.) - kennethwoosterExplorerI have had 4 Ford's since 2003. None have had a shutter. All of them has pulled heavy. I currently 2014 DRW, pulling a Cameo. It is smooth as silk. There are times I get on it pretty hard, and still no shutter.
- FlatBrokeExplorer II:h Launch shutter? Same truck, three fifth wheels, two pickup campers. Never had it.

- C_SchomerExplorerYou might be breaking the tires loose. My 97 CTD would squeal the tires with a 5er on if I wanted to. My 03 never shudders but I drive more sanely than I used to. " That's normal" is their usual BS answer when they can't figure something out or don't want to fix the problem... BTDT several times. Craig
- jsmith180ExplorerThanks for all the imput and I now know I am not the only one
- larry_barnhartExplorerOur 2001 chev 3500 8.1 dually had some of this but we had the rear lowered 2" with shorter rear spring shackles and this probably was the reason for the launch shudder. It was not much but as most feel the right foot was the fix and it was for me. I have not felt it on our 05 but I don't take off like a race car or maybe I would feel something. Our 05 has torque management.
It is common sense
