2014 Cedar Creek won't drain

Did you ever get this worked out?

The gray tanks are more and more coming the same way that CC has plumbed them - Kitchen Sink and Shower into one gray tank, Bathroom vanity and washing machine into the second gray tank.

This is not really necessary. All you need to do is push a tape measure down the vent until it bottoms-out -- remember this measurement. Then begin to pull the tape back up until it hooks onto the bottom of the vent. Subtract the second measurement from the first and this will tell you how much distance is between the bottom of the vent and the bottom of the tank. Measure the height of your black tank to see how far into the top of the tank the vent extends -- this should be no more than an inch -- the shorter, the better.

Could that check valve be another Hepvo valve instead of a p-trap? Sounds like your system is having some sort of air lock problem. If you put a p-trap in the shower, then that shower drain pipe will get air and be able to drain toward the sink. When you took off the "check valve" you also introduced the required air that was needed for that water to flow.

Remember those drinking water coolers with the water bottle on top? If water bubbles don't go into the bottle the water will not come out of the bottle. Same principle. You need air.

I need to stop here since I don't have detailed knowledge of your model - you need help from a CC owner. But I will add that if the dealer does insist on a p-trap in the shower - ask if the suction will drain the water from the p-trap - if so you could have sewer smells in the shower. Good luck.

This is not a CC specific problem. This is a plumbing problem. I am a plumber. I solved the problem. Nothing more to talk about here.

A Hepvo valve is basically a beak-type backflow preventer. Your shower plumbing has nothing to do with this problem. The vent from the tank that goes through the roof is jammed down into your tank too far.

Sorry I'm one of those guys that trys to fix things myself instead of dragging the rig 120 miles everytime there is an issue. What I was asking for was if anyone else has had this problem with newer Cedar Creek production because they just started using the new Hepvo valve around the time mine was built. In fact the Cedar Creek engineer didn't know they were installing them.

You should post this question on the Cedar Creek RV Owner's Club. It appears they have numbers in which you can contact Cedar Creek. I do not know who the new person is at Cedar Creek.

This would be the last place I would come to for help with a very expensive and brand new product, without going either to the dealer or manufacture first!

Yes...seems to be everybody's solution. I don't camp with full hookups sometime so not an option

OK. The solution is to have the vent raised in the tank. I don't care what everybody else is saying -- there is no mysterious problem here -- your vent is too far down into your tank. It's a very simple thing for me to assess, but not so simple to repair.

Secondly... its obvious you don't understand how your plumbing system works, Bruce has pointed out what is causing the issue,(plugged or collapsed vent line... ca ca happens) now take your fiver back to the dealer and get it fixed before your warranty runs out!!
