There are exceptions to every rule. Occasionally you may run into a CG tucked into a tight space, where your TT will be too long. But not often.
One place that comes to mind, above Ouray CO: Amphitheater USFS CG
That's true for commercial campgrounds but I assure you there are many Federal and State CG which won't take bigger RVs. - rexlionExplorerThere are exceptions to every rule. Occasionally you may run into a CG tucked into a tight space, where your TT will be too long. But not often.

Better check the specifications of those two 5vers. The shortest Artic Fox is 27'10" and all the Glacier Peaks are over 30 ft. The numbers seem to have little correlation to the actual link. Actually these numbers are the square footage of the interior.
You are correct the Arctic Fox 27-5L is 29'5"... Glacier 26RDS is 30'9" - total lengths.
Is the AF 27'10" you are mentioning a 5th wheel? To me smaller is better. - VeebyesExplorer II<30' generally no problem at all. The problems really escallate as you approach & pass the 35' mark.

- 3oaksExplorerOver the years we have found that not all trailers will fit all the sites in any given park, no matter what size the rig is. Everything is a compromise. And when it comes to state parks and national forest campgrounds, no two parks even in the same state are alike as far as camper length accommodations are concerned.
- TerryallanExplorer IIYou will have some trouble fitting in the CGs on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Even our 27' nose to bumper TT had a hard time fitting in most of the sites. The 30' nose to bumper we have now. will only fit is 3 or four sites at Julian Price, and will NOT fit thru any of the pull thrus. they are long enough, but the TT, and TV will not make it thru the curve of the site with out hitting the rocks they use for curbing.
- 2oldmanExplorer IIShould be finer most of the timer in your 5er.
- Golden_HVACExplorerThe advantage of the 27' fifth wheel is it will fit into all the places a 30' will, plus any 35' long and the rare 40' long spaces. So you will have many campsites to pick from, while a 40' DP owner can only select from a couple of them. . .
I had to have a back up plan when I went to Sequoia NP in July of 2010. I ended up parking in the very first site that looked big enough, and it barely fit. I had to rent a second site for the car we where towing. I did drive around the campground, and only found shorter sites and those already being camped in. I arrived around noon on a Friday, and spent the weekend there.
Good luck,
Fred.
