- CampinfanExplorer IIIA little while back I asked about 2nd air conditioners. A few people mentioned that Atwood makes a quiet unit.
- Bamaman11ExplorerI was looking at the owner's manual online for the Penguin II low profile unit. They have the reputation for being loud, but it's the best for the front bedroom.
I would think a good mechanic could install the unit in just over an hour. In my unit, the wire to the thermostat is taped to the inside of the paneling behind the light switch. It's meant to be installed above the light switch. The installation is on UTube.com.
Worst prat about putting in such a unit is getting it up on the roof @ 100 lbs. plus. Easiest way is to use an extension ladder extended out as a ramp, and pull the a/c unit up to the roof with a rope. - Diannat60ExplorerDid anyone install their ac themselves?

I have a low profile Coleman.
You actually have a low profile RV Products/AirExcel unit, with the licensed Coleman name. Coleman makes very little product themselves anymore and they don't even participate in or care about the design of the product. They just sell their name to whomever wants to build something with the Coleman name on it. - oakmandanExplorerI have a low profile Coleman.
- filrupmarkExplorerOur low profile Dometic Penguin has been great .
- AllworthExplorer IIWe had a Dometic Penguin low profile installed in the bedroom last Spring.
We would have had to cut our California/Arizona trip short without it. Best addition we ever made to the trailer. - RustyJCExplorerHopefully you have a 2 (or more) zone thermostat installed. If so, get the A/C that's compatible with your thermostat.
Rusty - Big_KatunaExplorer IIGet the same brand as the other one.
