5th wheel age, how old is to old

We traded in a Coachmen Chaparral D277 for our new Kz G384RLT 5th wheel, it had a complete new roof 1 year old, new LED lights inside an out, 1 year old tires an upgraded 30amp power plug with internal progressive surge protector ... Dealer had it on the lot for four days an sold it for $14k, who every bought this trailer will not have a worry in the world for the next few years ... Make me wonder if they really new what they were buying an how good a trailer it really was... If we were going to keep it I would have put a new MorRyde 18k pin-box on it along with the MorRyde 4000 suspension an wet bolt kit ... But we needed more room an thus we upgraded Ugh !!!

Some manufacturers had a 12 year warranty (Dicor I think). Depends upon the manufacturer of the roof in question. Proper care and if stored under cover can substantially lengthen roof life. Most problems occur at seam/joints, yearly inspection, and necessary repair is part of RV ownership! If the previous owner wasn’t very diligent, leakage may be an issue.

I ran across that in California once, my trailer was over 10 years old, but looked like new. she asked me I told her, she looked out at it ,and said oh! thats fine no problem. She explained that it was to prevent a bunch of unkept RV's in the place , but I suppose if it looked bad I could or would of been turned away

We have decided to keep our 2007 HitchHiker II which we have towed for over 90,000 miles. It suits us better than any new one we have seen. We don't want to go any longer (34') or heavier. This one will last as long as we will--and longer. I am 86 years old and still going strong--not as strong as I used to be, but still . . .

"How old is too old?" May not be the oldest trailer, but near the oldest driver.:C

If I was in the market for a used RV I would look at 5vers from 2008 to 2012. I would look for one of the following brands (most of which are now out of business): Citation/Corsair; HitchHiker; Excel; Carriage; Mobile Suite.

After seeing the quality degrade year after year when attending the Tampa RV Super Show, I've no intention of getting rid of my Lifestyle. If it were totaled, I'd be looking for another similar used rig.
