- copeland343ExplorerLippert sells a Goosebox. I use a Colibert adapter with no problems. Check the link below it is from Lippert the frame manufacturer so there should be no problems using it.
http://www.lci1.com/goose-box - alanmikkelsenExplorerAs noted above, it is almost uniformly popular to advise against it, by people who mostly have no experience with the gooseneck adapters. I stopped at a local dealer in Missoula, MT and asked about them. They told me that 50% of the fifth wheels they sell go out the door with the gooseneck, due to the prevalance of ranch trucks with the gooseneck balls. They report no trouble and no issues.

As I said, I would like to hear from People that have in fact have used one. I do not want to know what somebody heard from a 3rd Party. I want to hear from People that have used one. I do not know how to make that any More clear than I have already. Thanks.
My neighbor used one for a long time and said it worked OK. However he recently bought a new unit and.I see he is using the b&w now but don't know why.
My preference would be the b&w - powderman426ExplorerMy neighbor used one for a long time and said it worked OK. However he recently bought a new unit and.I see he is using the b&w now but don't know why.
My preference would be the b&w - ventrmanExplorerI have read most of the Discussions on this Subject. Most People that have been Detractors in this are those that speak from having no Experience using one.
Nothing will work if you do not use it.
I am looking for Comments from those that have used one. I want to know their Experiences, Pro or Con. Please do not respond if you have never used one. I do not want my Thread to degenerate into an Argument as to why they will not work. Thanks. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIComments removed due to OPs request.
- ventrmanExplorerThanks for the Link. They also have a Ranch Hitch Adapter. Would those be OK?
Video Included - dballentineExplorerYou might want to look into the Andersen Ultimate. It mounts to the gooseneck ball in the bed of your truck, and has another ball at the height where a fifth wheel hitch would normally be. You attach a small adapter to the FW pin which in turn grabs the raised ball.
The advantage is that the trailer pin is in its normal position, so no added loads are placed on the frame, as happens when a gooseneck extension connects the pin to the bed-mounted ball.
There was a fairly recent thread on this topic in this forum. - BB_TXNomadLots of previous discussions here.
As noted some manfacturers will void the warranty if one is used. But many people do use them with no apparent problem. I don't remember ever reading any post where someone claimed any kind of failure due to using one. If you are still in warranty I would check to see if it would affect you. If you are out of warranty depends on whether you want to chance it or not.
