What has to do with inside vs outside is the insulation as well as the A/C unit. Check the air temperature entering and leaving the A/C unit inside using a thermometer. DO NOT use an infrared temperature gun as it will not measure air temperature.
After he unit has been running on high for about 15 minutes, the leaving air temperature should be 18 to 20 degF lower than the inlet air temperature. If you are getting this temperature difference, the unit is doing all that it can do. You need another A/C unit or more to where you have more shade.
Any unit over about 30' needs two A/C units in south Texas.
