Good mod...very useful. This is what I did to hold the end caps on.
THANKS for the locking clasp idea!!! I've been trying to figure out what kind of locking clasp I could use on my planned mod. I am going to make one to hold my ladder and needed something to lock it with.
Your idea is PERFECT! - downtheroadExplorerTo answer a couple of your questions:
Yes, I do check the zip ties often for brittleness. I used 9 of them over the length of the holder. They have been there for 3 years now and are holding well...no sunlight underneath.
I used 2 stainless spring latches/catches (ebay) ...one on each side of the tube....I tried to use a hinge but it just wouldn't work smoothly for me. They are attached with short pop rivets. You could also use a couple of short nut and bolt set ups. - jareddustinExplorerthanks for the idea guys! my TH has a tube for the sewer hose but I can only get a 10' hose in there. was trying to figure out a storage idea for a bigger hose. but I think I will paint what ever I use black so it blends in with the bottom of the trailer like my stock one is.

That's REAL clean. It looks like you used zip ties to hole up the square tube, what are they wrapped around?
Yes, I did use 'zip ties'....extra long and extra heavy duty from Home Depot. Each has a 250 lb capacity strength. I used eight or nine of them along the length of the fence post and attached them to a cross member on the frame located near my dump valve.
What does the other side of the cap look like? Is there a hinge? Or another of the same connector (for lack of a better term)?
I did this mod a long time ago and it has been great, but need to figure out an upgrade from the current duct tape to hold the end cap on! - naytherExplorer

thanks, I have those zip ties at work, we use them to fasten flex duct to metal fittings, super strong but they don't like sunlight so keep an eye on them not getting brittle in a few years. I'll crawl under and see if I have some cross members I could use. - nremtp143Explorer
- nwcutieExplorerNice! We had to add the holder about 9 months after we bought the hauler because the other was way in the back and got knocked off on a steep drive without us knowing. Our fix has lasted about 7 years now, but your solution is SAWEET. (In writing this, I just realized we bought the TH 8 years ago in January!)
- shagan77ExplorerAwesome. I like the fact that the hose will fit with the connectors on it. I fell victim to the purchased version, round tube, but to narrow to hold the hose with the fittings on it. They are stored in the pass through storage. I'll be redoing mine come spring!
- jandjbaumsExplorerI like the "sanitary" setup of both. I will have to see it this can work on mine.
