I didn't know either till ours needed paint, of course the dealer said it was a defect at the manufacturer and they will paint it properly and no more fade. Ha Ha, two and a half years later their paint job looked as bad. And i waxed twice a year.
I believe the only solution is when not in use it would need to be covered, a 31 foot 13 foot high RV port is a problem for a lot of us, or last resort a fabric cover, i had one for my Lance and it worked but was a pain putting on.
