Aluminum foil blowing out of ac unit

There are small chopped up pieces of foil blowing out of my bedroom ac unit, which was installed by the dealer last year. I am camping in Biloxi now and will not get it apart until I get home. The unit works fine, but each day there are pieces of foil all over the bed and floor. I hope it is just some insulation cover that got into the fan.

  • This unit is not ducted, but it does look like the work of a mouse.
  • Is this AC ducted or not?

Does all of the cold air come out of the unit or thru vents locate in different areas around the room?

  • Bits of aluminum foil spells "mice" to me. Likely chewing on/nesting in the duct insulation mentioned above.
  • It could be part of the duct insulation (guides air flow from the duct to the vent), If it continues you might want to get it checked out by the dealer.
