Battery Life is Unacceptable (to me) I was very optimistic about this unit until I find out that the CR-2032 coin type sensor battery will only last one year. My RV tanks last a lot longer than that before they need re-filling.
So....to replace the battery on my RV I have to remove the dual tank cover, unscrew the dual tank hold down bracket, lift up a probably full heavy tank, remove sensor, replace battery, and then reverse the process. Might have to re-sync Bluetooth also. This will be a PITA. This will be yet another line item on the long list of maintenance items I already have.
I can offer up a couple of solutions. A high quality rechargeable battery with an inexpensive small solar panel to charge it would eliminate the need to change the battery. Or a more powerful battery with a much longer life expectancy (like 5 years) could work. The coin type of batteries in my 15 or so home alarm window and door sensors have lasted for TEN YEARS so far and I have not had to change even one yet.
I look forward to an improved unit coming onto the market some day.
BTW, If you have an auto tank switch-over valve like most RVs have, you can use only one sensor. Simply put it on the "second " tank. When it starts reading low you know the "first" tank is empty and the "second" one is low.
