- JMeltonExplorerDumb question here...with liquid propane being -44°, could you not use a IR Thermometer gun to determine levels? Since I haven't yet purchased my FW, I'm inexperienced in this particular topic.
- csamayfield55xExplorerI saw this a few months ago and was ready to buy a set when Life decided to use up my play money for other stuff. it is on my short list of stuff to get to play with. My tanks are a pain to get to and check so i really want these
Chris - rhagfoExplorer IIIInteresting several versions, one has a wireless monitor panel, there is also a smart phone app.
Not cheap, but looks to use a technology that will provide accurate readings.

Mike - Bob_VaughnExplorerMine arrived yesterday and I had one tank full and one 3/4 full and after I installed the system that is what they showed on the monitor. Now if it continues to work this way I will be happy. The hardest part was getting the tanks out and put back in.....
I do have a concern about battery life...... - fj12ryderExplorer IIII got just the one sensor to try it out. It does work well, and it's been a couple months and it's still on the same battery.
It seems to work very well although the range isn't great. The main issue I have is that my wireless meat thermometer and the tank sensor interfere with each other and I can't get readings from either. I didn't get the monitor and use a tablet with their app for checking the level.
Because of the issues with the wireless meat thermometer, I just use it to check LP level before I start smoking. Unless you sync it, it only checks the level and transmits every half hour. Which is plenty I would imagine, and better for battery life.
I smoked some ribs the other day and had the smoker on for about 5 hours and, according to the gauge, the level in my 30 lb. tank went from 98 percent to 93 percent. That seems about right based on past experience.
