I guess it all depends on the severity of your hitch problems and the limits of your financial resources.
True If it was not for my finances I'd be using a sea plane for camping in the islands somewhere :B ....Although I do enjoy the driving.
Ha! One of my "if I win the lotto" dreams! An Albatross or Goose built out like a custom RV with an inflatable in a wing pod - flying, diving and fishing the Carib! I read Jimmy Buffet's books "A Pirate Looks at 40" and then "A Pirate Looks at 50" and thought "why not"? What's he got that I don't have? Oh, besides some big bucks and the Goose ... :)
But, back to the main thread topic, I have a Valley 16k 5th hitch in my old truck, but just bought a newer truck that has a basic fixed ball gooseneck hitch. The frugal says mount the rails in the new truck, use the old Valley and go camping. The other voice says "yeah, but a clean, flat bed would be SO nice!" so I am contemplating swapping out the fixed ball for a turnover ball and getting a B&W Companion or Anderson...
Almost camping season here so I need to decide and do it!
