I was dissatisfied with my existing (not old) hitch, and, did buy a new one...Bought a new Reese R20 on 12/2014...The second time we used it, we trailered from Ft.Wilderness to Lazydays to drop off our previous trailer off for service...When we went to disconnect no luck, the jaws would not open...The plastic part that unlocks the jaws broke off...So disconnected from base and left it hanging on the pinbox...Reese sent another hitch head and took that one back...The second trip with the new head I unlock the jaws drive the unit in, the jaws wont close...Move the trailer up, down, in, out and nothing...I took hat unit out, and put in an old Reese we have and went on our vacation...Called the place where we bought (etrailer) it and they said they would look in to it...They said to return the complete hitch that Reese would credit the full amount and pay for the freight to Reese...GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Reese and etrailer are class acts in my opinion.
My new hitch is a B&W Patriot 18K...Will be using it in a month...Looks sturdy and simple design, we will see how it works.
Sorry about the long wind.
