Auto transfer switch replace

Trying to replace the auto transfer switch on my RV since I don't have a generator and the switch is constantly buzzing loud enough to hear inside if nothing else is running.

I would like a box of similar size with internal connectors to keep from using wire nuts. I have been to Home Depot and Lowe's but can't find what I am looking for.

Anyone have any suggestions? The box is 7" X 9.5". Thanks in advance for your help.

Why not just eliminate the transfer switch?

That is what I am trying to do but have to splice the wires and prefer to use a box of some kind.
  • I suggest you gut your current box and get some block connectors from an electrical supply house and you will be set. Home Depot or Lowe's might even have the blocks, but I have never looked. I know an electrial hose will have them.
  • The buzzing comes from the relay not 'sealing up'. When it energizes, the two metal parts must make a good, solid contact. Dirt between them will make them buzz. They buzz long enough, the surfaces get 'roughed up' making it buzz worse. A little cleaning, and if necessary, putting a piece of emery cloth on a flat surface and sanding the pole pieces flat will do the trick.
