More rain yes, colder than usual not so much...
While this winter has produced more rain than the last couple of years here in Tucso, which we can always use, we have not had the usual cold experienced in a typical Tucson winter. Nightly lows for January through March are typically in the mid to high 20's through the mid to low 30's. This year that simply has not happened. There has only been 2 or 3 nights where it got down to 32 and most nights have been mid 40's.
We have a nice mantle of snow on Mt Lemon and the ski resort has been open intermittently but haven't seen a flake down here at 3,400' where we live vs just about every other winter over the last 10 years where we get 1 to 4 inches a couple of times.
Frost delays at the golf course are rare this year and we have only covered our citrus tree once. We seem to get a lot of 3 day events of rain passing through followed by low 80's.... which is this weeks forecast as well.
