Hi have been backing into my new driveway lately and noticed my back tire bending inward really band. Is there any way this could bend the axle . It seems to bend on every corner now.
I've seen a couple guys carry a small bag/bucket of coarse sand to throw down on hard surfaces to help with this. YMMV...
Lyle - MFLNomad III often read about people, with their whatever hitch, saying they can back to 90 degrees. When turned short, even before 90 degrees, you are no longer backing, just twisting your axles/tires sideways. Yes, pulling forward just a little and then back up makes it so much easier.
Jerry - BB_TXNomadAll the above. Just normal occurrence since the wheels are trying to turn at different rates. As mentioned, after getting straightened up, pull forward and then back a little and the tires/wheels will straighten up.
- thedoghouseExplorerNormal but try your best to avoid. Lots stress applied to axles, hangers, etc. When I see that happening I pull forward and try follow up and reduce side load. Sometimes you can't help it
- korbeExplorerI try to remember to straighten them out after backing with sharp curves.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIINormal for dual/triple axles to have deflection (front/rear tires at different angles) when backing/maneuvering into places.
Pull forward and they will realign with each other.
