Bay Hill vs Big Horn

You are going to get far more positive responses on the Big Horn than the Bay Hill due to the fact that the Bay Hill has only been out for three years and there are literally thousands of Big Horns on the road. We looked at and researched both and decided on the Bay Hill 340RK due to the floorplan. Both are quality units and both have pros and cons from our perspective. Not sure why no molded rear cap is a concern, but you have to decide. The key is to be happy with your decision and I don't think you will go wrong with the BH. Good luck and safe travels.

I found out that Lifestyle RV,s are being built down where Hitch Hiker was built. I'm going to the KC RV show tomorrow and will be checking them out. We had a older Hitch Hiker II and really liked the way it was built.

I think the confusion might be that the Lifestyle product is being sold by the Kansas RV Center which is owned by the former Nuwa Hitchhiker manufacturer in Kansas. As the previous poster said, however, they are made in Indiana. One rumour that I have heard is that the Nuwa license has been purchased by Petersen Industries who now produces both their Excel and Hitchhiker (for Nuwa). No proof of that, though, just hearsay.

Thanks for all of the responses. We have decided to go with the Big Horn. The Bay Hill is very pretty but since it is new there does not seem to be much of a history to evaluate.

Bighorn gets my vote. We really like our Landmark

Have owned a Heartland TT + currently enjoy Evergreen in signature. Really like both. Do you know if the Bayhill is composite construction? We chose our Evergreen mainly because it cannot delaminate. Bayhill photos look great. Good luck!

I'm not familiar with the Bay Hill model but we've owned a Bighorn 3055RL since August of 2010 and it still looks new inside and out. No major issues, only problems with one of the cabinet hinges above the sofa. Ours came with a fireplace and being one that previously thought they were a frivolity, I now am sold on this fuel efficient way to keep the place warm. With the hydraulic front landing gear and slides (3), with electric in the back, no problems. This is our first time with an electric awning and it's fantastic. Oh, talking about that, it came with two Fantastic fans and one AC unit. After a hot summer, we had a second installed in the bedroom and moved the Fantastic fan to the toilet room. We've camped in late Fall and have been comfortable inside with minimal furnace use supplementing with a Heater Buddy. We spend as much time as we can with our rig and love it.
