I bought a 2011 Crusader 290rlt and am now shopping for a used pull vehicle. Many of the trucks on the market only have a standard bed, and I was told that some 5th wheel models are ok with a standard bed and fixed hitch while others can impact the back window in a tight turn unless you use a sliding hitch. Does anyone have any experience with the 290RLT and a standard bed pull vehicle?
I can't speak to that specific FW/truck combo, but the FW and truck in my sig will NOT hit at full lock, right or left, when going forward. ALL will hit in reverse, the slider just gives you a bit more room when before you DO hit. That said, I have taken out my back glass, in reverse. I've done a 360 on a dirt lot when empty, right and left, at full lock, just to satisfy myself that I wouldn't hit. My Komfort is very square in the front, not like the newer FWs with the radiused corners. A 2WD truck may turn sharper, or it may not; it just depends on the truck.
