I have been using a SuperGlide auto slide (210lbs) for the past 2.5 yrs.
I recently bought a used Reese manual slide (155lbs) to see if I can live with a fixed hitch (98lbs) to shed some unnecessary weight. I still have the slide feature available just in case.
So far so good. I have taken it to a large parking lot to test its limits and I can back 90* before it came close to the cab. More than I would probably ever do. I still have a concern with coming in contact with the bed rails going over uneven grades such as a RR track but the SG wouldn't help me there anyway.
I'll keep using the Reese for a test period before I decide to sell my two hitches and purchase a small fixed hitch.
