Can I safely remove the fixed bed in my FB3000 WW?

I want to remove the fixed bed from the rear of my 30' Weekend Warrior but I'm concerned that it might provide some structural stability to the trailer?
I could reinforce the area after removing the bed, I am just hoping to find out if anyone knows if this would be necessary or not?
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide...

I am happy to hear Mark could help you out. He's OK in my book, I don't care what some will say about him, he just got caught up in the bigger is better to soon and then the bad economy. WW made a very good TH until the mid to 2000's, then they suffered some serious QC issues. I really think if the economy came around faster, WW would still be in production. We still really enjoy our LE, although it is a 06 and it is starting to show it's age. We have had very few minor problems with ours.

I agree. Our '06 WW FSC 2800 had way fewer issues than our supposed "upscale" Keystone Fuzion Touring Edition. What's Keystone's excuse?

Thank you very much for the contact info. I emailed Mark and he responded pretty quickly and was very helpful.

For the record, it is an open floor plan model that has a queen sized bed permanently mounted in a fixed position at the rear of the trailer. The bed does not move up or down.

He said the bed does provide "some" structural support but the trailer was designed to be structurally sound without it. There would be no problems with removing it. The down side is the bed is screwed in from the outside in. Through the wall studs and through the interior paneling, into the bed.

Mark was also very helpful with some creative removal ideas that would not require removing the outer skin of the trailer.

Thanks again for the info... and if you're out there Mark, THANKS AGAIN for all your help!

  • When you say fixed rear bed, i assume it is an older model without the jack knife raise and lowering ability ?
