Can You clarify my weights?

I haven't weighed the truck without the 5th wheel, but I will get to that soon I hope.

I'm estimating to hit the road there will be 350-500 lbs more either in/on the 5th wheel or truck bed.

Not sure how to relate these specs to see if I'm maye pushing it farther than necessary.

OK got the truck weighed without the 5ver and it's not making sense to me. Here's the truck front and rear weights AFTER adding 65lb generator/copnverter and 10 more gals of spare diesel to the truck bed.

Front 4820, Rear 3600.

That would make my pin weight 1690, which is possible I have the front bedroom loaded and have 3 mattresses there, at least one will be going away. Also carrying 30 hard bound books, my library. IF they weighed 2lbs each that's only 60lbs, and they don't. Might be one pound each, my Grandfathers collection of his favorite, Louis Lamoure westerns. I'll get rid of the generator before those if I have too. At any rate I'm 200lbs pin heavy. But adding my trailer axle from the 1st CAT weight, my estimated pin from both weights and front/rear total from the empty weigh in
I only come up with 17490.

What am I missing? Who made a mistake, me or the CAT Scales? (Don't answer that)

Show me how I'm off base on this.

I'm not sure what kind of rack you have on the back of your trailer but if you want to put it back there, I would make sure the hitch is welded to the frame. I would hate to loose a scooter while driving. It gets very bouncy back there. Good luck in your travels. A Vespa would be neat.

Front axle, plus rear axle=10,340 lbs. Truck GVWR 10,000. Yes, he is under axle ratings. I would not be concerned about the GVWR, if over a little.

Yes, it is common for the FW GVWR to be higher than the axles, due to the reasons you mentioned. I don't think a light weight scooter would cause your pin to be too light. I agree with other poster, that it would ride much better on the front of TV. Many motorcycle carriers have a warning (not for use on TT/FW)

Well, I was going to put a 125cc scooter on a carrier on the rear hitch receiver on the 5th wheel, and a few for miscellaneous items for about 150lbs in the truck bed.

Worried though that the scooter might cause a light pin condition. But too old to walk much, and would prefer not to use the truck for a grocery getter unless I have to.

It seemed strange to me that the GAWR for the trailer axles is 4400 each, which combined is less that the GVW. But I suppose that they take into consideration the landing gear when unhitched and the pin weight on the truck when hitched.
