carlisle tires

Ranger boats uses them on their trailers now. A Ranger is not a cheap boat so I would think they must have confidence in them.

They came on my 5th wheel original but had a blow out in the second year. Couple thousand dollars worth of damage. After that changed to 16" wheels and LT tires. Great so far, 3 years now.

Looks like your 29 FWRLS has a 10500 GVWR and approx 1800-2000 ln pin weight. Your trailer I'm guessing came with ST225/75-15 D at 2540 lbs per tire.

There isn't any 15" LT with 2500-2600 lb capacity out here anymore.

The new Carlisle RH have been on the market approx two years and its simple too early to tell how reliable they are at this time.

My last two 5th wheel trailers came with ST225/15 D. I went with LT215/85-16 E at 2680 lbs on my current 11200 lbs 5er.

The other trailer was a 9800 lb gvwr and used a LT225/75-16 E at 2680 lbs.

I have a set. 2nd year on them. It would have taken DT 2 days to get the Maxxis I wanted and I simply didn't have the time. A lot of the DT employees seem to be running them. They claim to have a R speed rating (106 mph), so the heat at 60-65 should be no problem. I have E-rated tires on a D-rated placard, so I don't think I should have too much trouble. I keep 'em covered and on boards when stored. AFAIK, there are no 15" E-range LT tires out there. You are stuck with a D-range 15" or have to change to 16" rims...if you have the clearance.

Tread can "look like new", but that's not a good indicator...not just with Carlisle, but with any tire....age seem's to affect more than anything else....

Put the new Type Carlisles On our car hauler last year. Did 11000 KM last year without a problem running at about 70 percent of load rating. Wouldn't hesitate to get them again. Tread still looks like new.

The new Carlisle's were not around five years ago so would suggest an unfair comparison.

I bought 5 a few years ago and blew the first one 100 miles from home ! These were 10 ply. went about 2000 miles and blew the other 3. Now the 4 th didn't blow bot the plies moved. Right now all id use Carlisle Radials for would be in winter to set fire at a Orange nursery to keep the trees warm !

I put a set (16" LR E) on my trailer last June. They were new mfg, Feb 2013, and after over 4k miles no problems. Wearing evenly. No air leakage.

I was and may still do up a good tire report for a change on them. Most don' realize that they came up with a new design similar to Maxi a few years back and that is the new duratrail tire. I bought a set when they first came out a few years or whenever it was ago and they have been great. We just got home the other night from a 3 week road trip to the Oregon coast and put on 5000 km over the 3 weeks and not a glitch on them. Father in law put a set on his fifth just before we left too and no issues on his either. Carlisle does have a lot of tire stories out there but there are a lot of good reports on the new design. I think they made a good improvement and may get some people on board if they stay working properly and word gets out that they are not the design of old.
