big horns are made by maxis. i have found all maxis atv tires, no matter what tread, to be better riding and lasting than any others i have used.
big horns are radial and come in both 4 ply and 6 ply. not a big deal, unless you ride a lot of rocky country or rocky stream beds. the 6 ply is well worth it then
more to the tire than the tread pattern. as stated above tread might look the same but big difference in tires.
personally would go ahead and spring for the big horns. you know what to expect from them.
