Control panel rocker switch

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just took delivery of a new 2014 Fuzion 342 from Lakeshore RV in MI and so far am pleased. Didn't get much of a PDI other than running slides out, starting gen and leveling up. After a week, went to pull slides in and the rocker switch on the control panel worked for the bedroom but not the one for the 2 main room slides. Also, after a couple of cycles, the 2 switches for the awnings stopped working. I can perform the functions fine with the remote. I have checked all the fuses and they are fine.

  • A few years ago the landing gear switch on our Fuzion 302 quit working, but the remote would still run the gear up and down. I called a repair guy that does work that is over my head and he said it will be a bad ground. Started tracing wires back from the leg motors and manual switch until I found some large wire nuts. When I pulled the nut off of the ground wires it was definitely a problem area. Cleaned stuff up and back together. Been working ever since.

Even tried turning off all breakers, disconnected shore and 12V power for 5 minutes and still no change. Thought maybe it would reset something!!
  • I keep seeing posts repeated regarding switches, things not working, etc. but nobody states, "there's power to one side of the switch" or "I have power to the switch" etc. Come on people, buy a cheap multimeter at Harbor Freight for $5.00 and learn how to use it. This basic electricity knowledge is a MUST for an R.V. either that or just take it to a "stealer" and pay them to fix it, otherwise you're ******* in the wind. A voltmeter is your friend!

    O.K. off my soapbox.
  • Nothing yet...wires look securely attached to the back and all fuses checked good. Also, the "clicking" action seems adequate and the same as others. Have just sent a request into Keystone.
  • Hi eaglesview01 ,

Any update on your switch? I have a friend with the same issue in his 342. He checked his switches and the wiring was fine ( has not checked switch function yet).

    Thanks
  • You said they would work from the remote? I purchased a new Jayco Designer 35RLSA with the remote for slides awing and landing legs. First trip out it quit working off the remote and switch on landing legs slides still worked, I wired around and made legs work had to swap wires for up or down. Took to dealer they replaced both wire less control boxes new remote and it worked. I told dealer there was a problem with motor on landing blowing the fuse and I thought it was geared to high. Went for about a year and had problems again took back to dealer and they called the company that makes the remote system they told the dealer to contact Jayco as there was a fix out on this system. What they found out was the landing leg motor was to small and geared to high and the wires for the motor run though the boxes and was drawing so much amps and getting hot and wrapped the boards in control boxes causing them to short out and kill the system. The fix was replace landing legs motor with heavy duty motor and change gear to lower ratio. They also replaced all the remote system and I have not had problem since at no cost. My dealer is only 6 miles from my house and they are easy to work with. Even if I am on the road and have problem I can call them and they will help.
  • The switches might have failed, especially if there is no 'click' to them. I had one fail on my Road Warrior. You can get them at Lowes or Camping World and they are easy to replace.
  • Pull the panel and see if any wires fell off the switches.
Do it carefully. 12volts will be present on some of the wires.
It won't hurt you but may short out if they touch the frame resulting in a blown fuse.

My need to get an electrical person to help you.
