Cougar 26sab

I have been trying to find the place for the emergency handle to fit on my new 2013 cougar lite 26sab slides. The handles came with it but this was not gone over in my very good delivery instructions from the dealer.
The handles have different size ends. Thanks a lot for any help.

I think you will find the other one fits the front landing gear, and the access point will be through the left propane bottle area. Take a look at the gear motor via the front compartment, and you'll get an idea where the crank fits and where the hole will be.

I'm assuming a lot, since mine is a different model, but most of the Cougar line shares more features alike than not.

My Outback (Keystone) was underneath, opposite side from the slide.

  • I have a new Winnebago 5th. It came with only one crank handle but in sales photos I have seen two cranks included. Maybe I'm missing one but I too have not found where to use them for slides or possibly stabilizers.
  • It was just as bpounds and others said, under the unit. I love this forum and thanks to all who responded.
  • Thanks folks, I will take a look now that I have somewhere to start. My Jayco was like korbe said but I guess that was too simple. Its something I hope to never use but you never know.
  • Should be an access opening under the unit, as I recall between the steps and the back axle.
  • Yeah, it's probably like my Cougar. You have to open up the corroplast undercover to access the slide motor.

Also, I'll bet you do not have a handle for the manual slide. You have one handle for the landing gear, and one for the rear stabilizing jacks. I didn't get one for the slide, and it wouldn't fit anything on the motor anyway. Plus you might have an awning crank. You have to use a regular ratchet and socket wrench to turn a hex adapter on the gearmotor.

I could be wrong, because mine is a different model and year. Open the corroplast and check.
  • Mine on the Cougar 29RES are in openings in the polar package underneath - I have to take 4 screws out and the polar cover comes down and they are inside. I found out in the owner's manual because the tech didn't go over that with me.
  • I have a different brand but my manual slide handle connection is on the opposite site of the unit and through a hole in the frame.
