How do I remove without leaving tale tale signs of the decal

I just removed the decals from the front of mine. Nice shiny white image where each piece was, and dull white all around. But in my case that was great. I used those images to make it easy to install new decals where the old ones came off. Don't get too aggressive with polishing compound.
