- byrdr1Explorersaw one yesterday, a 250 CC long bed and it was parked on the incline of the dealership lot and it was tall. I was like dang that is tall and not sure how it would hook up and it was also $70,000 plus on the sticker.
They had a nice 2016 white lariat 350CC long bed with a sticker of $65000. I was thinking discount up to $10-15k and my 03 7.3PSD traded in and I might get out for under 40K. and the wife was like figure out how to pay for it and you can get it. There in lies another problem HOW to pay for it..

People are starting to question the bed depth(+1.1") and height of the new 2017 Fords. Anyone towing a 5th wheel with on yet?
1.1 inches is not earth ending, the overall height of the bed would be. My 2014 Ram 3500 sits 59.5 inches to the top of the tailgate . My previous Ford superduty 350 57" . If I recall my friends 2016 Ford 350 is right around 57". If the 2017 is 1.1 inches deeper, ,and the same as the 2016 in height it still will not be any worse then my 2014 Ram.
My point is the Rams are high enough to cause problems with leveling a fifth wheel, especially the older fifth wheels, the ford cannot be any worse ,1.1 inches or not.
Is there a point to your post that is anymore of a concern then the Rams :h - blofgrenExplorer

Exactly. I would not give the 7.3L up if it is in good shape.
If you do decide to sell it you could easily sell it yourself for top dollar. They are still a very popular truck with the Ford crowd. - alexleblancExplorerI was in for an oil change today and they had a brand new 2017 F250 XLT with the 20" wheels (the tallest F250 combo) and my truck parked next to it I would say that it sits about 1.5" taller.
While looking at it my salesman came out with a set of keys and told me to take it for a test drive to see what I though as I had been asking about them for a while.
Three things stood out:
1. This thing is like a vault on wheels, extremely quiet and tight feeling (I tried the 6.7 Diesel)
2. It rides significantly smoother than my current F250
3. between being lighter and having more power and 3.55 gears it felt a lot stronger than my current truck - that and you pretty much can't hear the engine at all.
