- M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerFor those of you that will be picking up your unit soon here are some things I found:
Make sure your valves to the dump tanks are closed before you start using, make sure the drain plug to the water heater is tight, and check your sprayer on the kitchen sink (ours was cracked but don't ask how we found out), make sure your valances are tight (that's from Dave), careful when you go up or down a driveway as the back end of the unit is low (landing gear), the Lazy Boy/dinetter table goes out first then the sofa slide goes out, sofa slide comes in first then the Lazy Boy/dinette table slide, the outside flap that looks like an outlet for the central vac system is not an outlet but is actually the exhaust for the central vac, there is a sliding drawer in the base of the couch along with two cushions that come up and reveal more storage, unplugging the 50A cord from the unit is hard so be patient, careful when you use the awning as it does not react to water or wind so probably best to roll up if you will be gone for a while (while at your campsite), and if I think of any more I will post - 2QAYLExplorerFirst and Foremost: Thank you, Moderator, for allowing this thread to continue.
2nd: Janice and I are home safe from our trip to Arizona. I will post a summary of our experiences in an appropriate section of the forum.
3rd: I've an item concerning the woodwork on the 35RLTS that developed during the latter part of our travels that may be of interest to new 35RLTS owners. Apparently the feet of the couch and the single table leg do not like the dry dessert air. One foot on the couch has developed a crack and two cracks have appeared in the table leg. I suspect that it is just a reaction to the change in humidity for which there is no simple solution but I will be seeking action from Jayco.
Finally a caution about the power cord to the rear jack motor!!! I noticed just prior to leaving Mesa that there was about a 2 foot loop of power cord hanging down from the bottom of the trailer almost to the ground, a gentle tug produced another foot or so. Not a good situation because the loop would have snagged the first obstacle on the ground. I could see no way to secure the cord up in the trailer so I wrapped it around the motor a few times until there was no excess slack and taped it to the motor. Needless to say I will be having a chat with our dealer about a more permanent fix and I suggest that owners inspect the situation in their units.
Dave - BCCDALExplorerWHPORWIL...I had the same thing happen on my Curtis DVD player. Go to the menu on the remote of the Dvd player and set it up. I can not remember exactly how without going out to the 5th wheel, but you will find it.
O - cdelv66ExplorerOur salesman showed us the extra storage in the dinette chairs during our first walk through. I thought it was pretty cool, too.
To ewagner: I just purchased our 08 White Chevy 3500 HD D/A Dually too. Absolutely love it! Let me know what you end up doing with the design. It crossed my mind, too. - TravlingmanExplorer IIYou can also open up the back leaf of the table for storage.
- ahagenExploreri was moving our dining room chairs when it felt like the seat was falling off. i looked a little closer and found under each seat was more storage. does everyone else know about this?
- TravlingmanExplorer IIOurs did the same thing. I know you go into the set-up and do the fix there. Sorry, can't remember exactly what the exact cahnge is.
- sanderson_66Explorereaherrmann: Sounds to me like you have all the bases covered. Your lucky to have a FIL with that kind of knowledge. I would really appreciate a post from you after pick up to let me know how your trailer matches up with your truck. We are running identical truck and hitch. As we both know the Dodges sit high. Love to know if you have to raise the Mor Ryde or just how they come together. What kind of bed rail clerance you end up with. Congratulations and good luck.
- whporwilExplorerWe had a new experence last night. Our DVD player would only show movies in black and white. Is this a set up thing or could there be something wrong. Our RLSA came with a Curtis DVD6019-B unit. Anyone else have a problem like this? Thanks
- eaherrmannExplorerWe have an appointment at RV Direct this coming Friday to pick ours up. I've gone through this thread a few times and have a complete list of what to watch for. I even have my FIL ( a former TT service tech ) going over early this week to do a "pre" PDI to ensure all's is as good as it can be. Anyone have any suggestions of areas to pay closest attention to, things you found after your 1st look? Valances, tires, fit n finish, etc....
