- ccm14Explorercdelv66,
We have a Designer 34RLQS that we took delivery of in April and we have had the same landing gear problem. We don't have the remote but often when using the up and down buttons in the propane compartment, it will blow the fuse in the battery compartment. We have had the dealer look at it but like most of the other things we have had them look at they don't have a clue. I spoke with Jayco and they said they have not had a recurring problem like this. Ours seems to blow the fuse most often when we have to run the landing gear a good ways. Short runs don't seem to be a problem.
I would really like to hear if someone has a solution.
Thanks - whporwilExplorerI can tell you a thing or to about the front remote control unit. We got our on March 4 and ours hasn't worked since March 7. First on the 08 there is a 30 amp fuse behind the battery. Look in the battery compartment, you may have to loosen the battery to see it, but it's an in line fuse. Ours was blown and when we replaced it the remote unit still didn't work but the switch mounted by the LP tanks did. Check this first. Our remote unit has been back to Alta the manufacture twice now (still no replacement)It was just sent back to the dealer last week claiming this time the on off button was bad. Our dealer is planning to install it in another camper to see if it works and that was suppose to have happened last Friday. I haven't heard a thing today so I have no clue. You should also look at the wires in the LP compartment to see if any are laying on the shaft that rotates when the landing gear motor is running. They should be attached to the ceiling but mine were rubbing on the shaft. Believe me these campers are no fun to hand crank up and down.

Look in the battery compartment. There is a 30 amp fuse for the landing gear there. It's in the wire bundle usually behind the top battery. Same thing happened to me when we first got ours. Has been ok since that one time.
O - cdelv66ExplorerHi all ... We picked up our 2009 Designer last week and are currently trying to figure everything out. We had to move to a second site with 30 amp service and now the front jack remote control system and the ret/ext buttons in the RV don't work. I tried turning the on/off button on the receiver box and the main circuit breaker. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it possible there's not enough "juice" to run the motorized landing gear and I'll have to get the old fashioned crank out?
- TravlingmanExplorer IIFinished installing plexiglass in screen door to make it like a storm. Works great. Able to leave main door open now. Really makes it seem like more space in rig.

Have mirror hangers in center to hold plexi in.
Top panel and sides of top and bottom held in with rubber used in screen doors.
Here is the rubber used. Fits right into door and holds great.
Have to loosen a few screws, pop out the rubber, and you can take out panels to clean, or let in air if right temperature. - TravlingmanExplorer IIHere is a picture of my rig raised with shocks.

- eaherrmannExplorerLoyd, Got lucky with the levelness, B&W set on highest setting leaves me within 1.5" of level and 6.8" between bed of truck and bottom of trailer. So far it has done me well.
DaSu, our heater works like a champ. What kind of issues you having? - L_MMusicExplorerWe're still here! Still working on getting the thermal pane window replaced. Buffalo RV wants $1200 to replace the whole thing -- says that's what needs to be done and that it's not covered under warranty. Local RV here in Erie, PA is looking into warranty possiblity and also JUST replacing the thermal pane window for considerably less!!!
- loydtExplorerNo kidding. This place is way too quiet!!!!!! Eaherrmann, did you have your suspension lifted on your 5er? You look about perfectly level.
- M_GO_BLUE1ExplorerWhat kind of problems with the furnace?
