dining area

I have the u-shaped dinette booth, and I have to say it is the one thing about my current TT that I absolutely hate. The back of the u-shaped is useless unless you are a small child, my 13 year old daughter who is slim has a hard time sliding in. I also feel like the u-shaped dinette overwhelms the living space of the TT. Again, just my opinion.

Our new 5er has free standing table on slide that closes to flush with island, thus no booth order is possible. Decided we'll move the table out an throw an air mattress on the floor for the grandkids. To do this we're ordering Oasis Concepts Folding Dining Table Model FT-2005X2 the 5er comes with folding chairs and replacing the 5er table with this folding one. It's $275 shipped free at Overstock.com. Guess I'll put the factory table in the attic or on craigslist.

Our first two fivers had booths and we were satisfied with that. The Titanium has table and chairs and we will never go back to a booth.

The flexibility more than makes up for the lost storage even after I had put hinged tops on the booth seats to access all of the hidden space.

We generally do not camp. We "travel by RV" and eat a good percentage of our meals in the trailer. Again, flexibility is the key word.

Chairs & Table.
No problem to adjust chair distance from table.
Use only one chair per side if you wish.
Easily 're-configure' your floor plan
(My chairs & table are where the hide-a-bed was. H-A-B=gone)
Upgrade to chairs -and/or table- *you* prefer if/when you want to.

BTW - I now use a (round 36") drop leaf table and two chairs.
With the leaves down - nice narrow table for two.
*If* I need to seat 4 (hardly ever) - 2 more "outdoor" folding chairs will do.

When not in use the front chair legs sit inside the table legs.
Never had a chair or the table move while on the road.

We would never go back to a booth, but it's what's best for *you*..;)

The only time I would prefer a self-standing table with chairs is when we actually sit down for a meal inside the rig. And that really only happens once in a while. We eat outside most all the time. We are weekend campers right now.

X2 It is personal choice, like many other things. Post like these can bring out advantages and disadvantages of both sides, so it is a good exchange.

We had a booth in the 1st 5er, and DW wanted a table and chairs in this one That and a large kitchen were must haves.
We settled for both of those with one that had a master suite, shower in forward bed room. I now prefer as more room to dry and dress!

I think the answer is as simple as whichever one you prefer. Neither has any overwhelming negatives so it just boils down to which one you want to have.

We also like the booth. We are in a TT and the extra storage is needed. We also need the sleeping space for a grankid sleepover as we removed our couch and now have two recliners in that space.

We had a booth in 2 5vers and table and chairs in current one. Liked the table better but took it out and built a work desk/computer desk in its place.
