- missnmountainsExplorerThe winegard Travlr receives HD from Directv. We have only lost signal a couple of times in very dense trees.
Ken - lee_worsdellExplorerdish network even works in Ontario Canada for me. Can only use 25ft cable or it wont pick up all the stations. many times we have been down south with friends that have the roof mount and they cant get anything, just pull ours out and find and opening.
- ljrNomadI have a Winegard Trav’lr. For many years prior I had a portable on a tripod. If I had it to do over I’d stick with the portable. I’ve encountered many that have a lot of trouble with a manually aimed dish. It’s usually (always) because they went cheap on equipment and didn’t do their homework.
- Super_DaveExplorerI use DirecTV so it's always the dish on a tripod. For the times that I'm not by trees, I wish I could secure it to the roof.
- BB_TXNomadPortable, as we like trees. Often have to move the antenna around to find that one hole thru the tree canopy.
- goducks10ExplorerWinegard Pathway X2 user. Got the DishPointer Pro app for my phone. Being in the PNW we gots lots of trees. With the DishPointer Pro app I can thread the sats signal through trees.
- Big_KatunaExplorer IIOur rooftop is basically worthless as we prefer state parks with shade.
I chose a Winegard Pathway X2 carryout as it can find either DISH eastern or western arc which gives you more options to avoid tree interference.. - Cummins12V98Explorer IIIStay where the Sun shines and they work ALL the time. :)
- donn0128Explorer II2 grand for an automatic roof top good for maybe 50% of the time. Naw. Not again. Get one of the portable domes if tour going with Dish network. If your going with Direct, good luck. You will need an open faced oval dish to get a signal.
- ksbowmanExplorer IIWe have the dish Playmaker and have used it going on 3 years. It has worked very well for us, from southern Florida to western Colorado.
