dual pane windows & weight

07 Newmar Cypress 6 yrs young. approx 45000 miles ,had both, never a problem with the dual pane,would never go back to single pane windows.

Have also had both - would never "go back".

If you (the OP) are worried about weight - don't put so much 'treasure' in your storage compts!.:C

The added cost (ordered trailer) was very minimal - negotiate!.:S

Well of course they add thermal value! Storm windows were not sealed to the original window. Nor is the plastic window seals some folks use over there stock windows in the winter. It all adds thermal value. Sealing is just a more efficient way, but typically is a waste through an an aluminum frame anyway.

The fact that they help with condensation is proof that they do ADD thermal value, so you just dis-proved your own statement.

but if you do spring for the extra money and failure potential, you will be coming on here and telling us just how wonderful they are, at least in your mind. had them on my 2nd MH, didn't order them on my 3rd.

Next thing they will tell you is your unit is worth less on trade in because it does not have dual pane windows!! I've owned 2 different 5th wheel units one without and one with. There is a night and day difference inside when you have that thicker glass. It does make a difference when your parked near a rail road track. Yes you still hear the train but not as bad as without the dual pane glass..I will always order it in my trailers since I've had a chance to see/hear & feel the difference

Our current fiver is our second with dual-pane windows; we think they are beneficial for the reasons previously stated.
