I wish the Max Brake was still around. I went from a P2 to the max brake and this thing is awesome. Works off your brake fluid pressure with a sensor. Best 350.00 I spent on my braking system. I sure hope this things last as I now cannot get parts for it.
I have one I removed from my 2011 RAM. Hands down the best controller on the market!

As far as after market controls go, there are only three really good made in the last 10-15 years. Jordan, Brake Smart, and Max Brake. The advent of IBC put all three out of business sadly. When I installed my Max Brake a few years ago, I kicked myself for not buying a Brake Smart 10 years earlier.

I can't imagine anything, (including disc brakes) could be quicker, and smoother than the Max Brake controller. I had a person stop at a yellow light once, and it saved me from a bad wreck.
A sad note is my 5ver will be for sale soon, and maybe my Max brake controller. - Me_AgainExplorer IIIAs far as after market controls go, there are only three really good made in the last 10-15 years. Went from a Voyager to the P2. Night and day difference. Have heard the P3 is even better. Do yourself a favor, kick the Voyager to the curb. You won't be sorry.
I'm using a P-3 and it works very well with my disc brakes. Did use a Voyager at 1st but had to always fiddle with it as too much city brake and too little highway brake. I have not touched the P3 since I set it up 15 months ago.
Randu - ScottGNomadI went through two Voyagers over the years. They both just got weaker.
So the second one I took apart and found that the component they use to supply the current is actually only rated at 1.5 amps and through the use of a tiny heatsink, they are pushing the full magnet current through it.
No wonder it got weaker with use. - TerryallanExplorer II

This thing is extremely sensitive, I usually get either minimum braking or it throws me through the windshield. The adjusting dials are very sensitive. One tiny turn of either knob will give extreme braking or none at all. Am I doing something wrong here?
Remember. One knob is the leveling knob. Set it wrong, and you will either have too much braking, or no braking. the other side is the gain. But you have to get the leveling knob right first. After you do. Don't touch it again. Use the gain to set the signal strength.
It will still be jerky. But that is just how Voyagers are. they do their job well. Just jerk. - TerryallanExplorer II

They can go bad. I had one that worked really well for years and then for whatever reason, if I set the gain high enough for the manual to hold the trailer, the brake peddle would put you trough the window. Adjust it for the brake peddle and the manual was not effective. Replaced it with a P3 and never looked back.

Every application is different.
