One of my GY G114's had very unusual marks on them, GY replaced it at no charge. It sat ( brand new) for about a month, till last Thursday when It took a 60 mile day trip to Lakewood NJ to get a Trav'ler satellite dish installed. When I got there I noticed that new tire was bulging, took a reading and it was at 40 #, down from 115.. I swapped to the spare and figured I would work it out at home.A month ago, When I had the NEW G114 installed, the kid removed and replaced the bolt on air valve and used the wrong one, thus allowing the air to slowly leak.It seamed to be at pressure, or close when I checked it before leaving.. I always use a club to hit the tires before rolling.. Had no reason to believe it was low at that point.My question is, is there any chance I damaged that brand new GoodYear by driving a period with it at that pressure? The local Tire guy is saying no problem,...... It was still aired up, and beads were still sealed.

Yes! I would demand replacement by the kid’s employer.

You probably shorten it's life considerably. I would ask for a replacement tire for the kid's company.

If a tire place hires kids, they pay the price to repair their mistakes...at least in CA.

60 miles, cool temperatures. I wouldn't worry about it personally, but if you can get them to install a new tire I would go that route. If they won't, and I think that's the way they'll lean, at least get it all down in writing as to what happened, However I'd get rid of the club and get a real tire pressure gauge. You may not be as accurate as you think you should be.

I figure that if all 4 are close, that's my target. I figure that if one is way off, then I have a problem. Same with hubs. Just looking for the oddball that could indicate a problem.

I know, and my tire guy knows as well.. likeI stated, he agreed to replace the tire with no cost to me..

He offered for me to keep the tire as a spare as he will not send it back to GY

FWIW, sunny side tires on both my FWs tended to run 10-15 hotter than shaded side. Same on my truck. When towing out here in the SW, in the summer, load charts are out the window. I want them to full cold psi to help dissipate the heat. I've seen nearly 150 on the sunny side tires towing across I-8 to San Diego. My old Komfort, with 860 lbs more GVW than my KZ, would always run in the 140's after 1-2 hours. E tires at 80 psi, 60-65 mph.

I have always run all my tires based on LOAD, never an issue. Dats why they have charts!
