Finally got weights from CAT scale

I had posted another thread last week about towing my 37' Grand Design Reflection with my F250...there were lots of posts with lots of good feedback. I was finally able to get my rig to the nearest CAT scale and below are the weights:

Steer axle - 4980 lbs.
Drive axle - 6140 lbs.
Trailer axle - 9320 lbs.
Gross weight - 20440 lbs.

Not as bad as I had expected...but...only had limited supplies in the camper, had a full tank of diesel and my brother was along as a passenger. Normally will have the wife with 2 kids along (in place of brother) with more supplies in the camper.
  • GVWR of the truck is 10000 lbs. Yes you are correct but I am under on every other weight...axles, GVW of trailer, and Gross weight of truck and trailer. I know your not supposed to exceed the GVWR of the truck but I also now know that that number has lots of fudge in it for various reasons.
  • So your GVW on your F250 is 11120 pounds and that is not fully loaded. What is your GVWR for the truck? I would say you are severly over capacity for your truck. My Ram 3500 dually is rated at 12200 pounds. If I would hazard a guess your probably at least 2000 pounds over your GVWR.
