Flex Air Pinbox is for sale- any reviews?

Gents the Lippert Flex Air is finally on the market. I am sure there are many of us waiting to hear from those of you are pioneering this new unit.Comments appreciated from Flex Air owners.
  • I obviously hoped for better, but this is what I usually end up with! I'll be interested in the explanation and how this gets handled.....

All this movement can't be the way they designed it!
  • Wow Tony, that's NFG at all. Sorry about that bud. Keep us posted on how you make our with Lippert. I was never happy with the Flex Air's predecessor, the Tri-Glide. I had a lot of clunking going on during take off. Others say they never had my issue so IDK. I hope yours can be resolved.
  • I hooked up this morning, but a roadtest wasn't needed to see just how bad this is:

I'll have to contact E-Trailer and Lippert this week and see what can be done. I can't imagine the B&W lasting very long with all this movement going on. Hoping for a swap to the standard Trailair box.
  • I have one but have only pulled on one 2500 mile round trip and a few short locals.

Not impressed so far. The chucking is far worse than it was with my Morryde. Need to hook it back up to the truck with a GoPro in the bed so I can see what is happening back there. Feels like the lower jaw is too loose/soft and making it worse.

I'd like to graft the Morryde plate to the lower jaw of a standard Trailair and then we would be golden!
  • I would prefer it over their previous TrailAir TriGlide. Had one and hated the roll and clunk on take off. Was noisy while traveling too. Still ugly as sin though so I went with a 5th Airborne this time around. Fits under my factory fiberglass pinbox cover and disappears. Functions nicely too.

Here was my TrailAir which looks similar to the FlexAir.

    Here is my 5th Airborne.
