What are you using to pull the Puma Unleashed? I like that model, but the dry pin weight seems heavy to me.
We have a Dodge 3500 duelly. The Puma Unleashed 351 has a lower pin weight ....I have seen both pulled with single rear wheel ton trucks but the 356 is better with a DRW...........
Person opinion most of the Toyhaulers over 12K should be pully with DRWs - maxx1015ExplorerGo with fuzion
- Byt_THExplorerAnyone with experience with the Dutchmen Razorback TH. We are trying to decide between a 2013 Razorback 2150 vs a 2012 Stealth 2216. Options wise, they are very close and within my 2010 GMC 1/2 ton towing capacity. Curious to hear from owners about how Dutchmen vs FR in regards to paying for warranty work and also how the stealths vs razorbacks in quality. Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome. This would be our first TH and are most likely be used in the Texas area.
- magicmantxExplorerWe have a 2010 Forrest River Stealth fb2312 which is the 27' front Bathroom Model. We searched every available model before buying ours. We too were searching for the Largest Toyhauler that our RZR S would fit in and still be within weight limits of our 2010 Chevy Crewcab 1/2 ton truck which had a tow rating just under 10K . We now have a 2012 RZR XP with front and rear bumpers and spare tire mount and still fits with room to spare even with paddle tires /wheels with large offset wheels making total width at 69" x 11' length Not sure of how tall my rzr is but we run 28" tires and keep the shocks cranked up for max ground clearance and clear the rear electric beds with ease. It lists dry weight at 5745 pounds and when we took delivery it weighed just under 6000 pounds with LP / battery and some water in the tank but not full. Quality wise it has been very good. we have pulled this trailer from Houston to colorado twice, all over texas several times ,arkansas 3 times, and many other local trips. Good trailer and on a quality scale I would say about an 8.0. There have been a few issues. Showerpan cracked and had to be replaced just befor the warranty ran out. About a month after the shower pan issue we started to get a soft spot in the bathroom floor just infront of the shower. both the dealer or Forrest river would own up to repairing it. The dealer claims it is from a leaking seal in the front of the trailer. We checked and nothing is leaking. Forrest river claims our TH is out of warranty and we show no record of maintence ???? On seals really ??? Our TH when not being used is stored under cover as we have a spot specially built as an extension on our metal building just for our RV. It probably hasnt seen more than 10 days total in the rain and most water exposure has been fron washing it top to bottom after each road trip. So much for Forrest River Products Standing behind their RV's. So we'll repair it ourselves and move on. I think had we not had a cracked showerpan and everyone deneying the true cause we would be looking at Forrest River 5th wheel toyhaulers right now as we are wanting a larger Toyhauler since we plan to start traveling more extended trips around the country and have already bought a new diesel powerstroke. Other than the warranty issue we have been very happy with our Stealth. Pulled easily with the 1/2 ton even in the colorado mountains. Unfortunte because we would be buying a new Stealth 5th wheel to replace our current Toyhauler.
- kevinmaillardExplorerMy wife and I looked at every different toy hauler on the market. Our opinion for our needs was a voltage by dutchman. We pick up our new 2013 voltage 3905 epic 1 and 2 this week. I cant wait!! We have owned a vortex 304fs. It was a decent hauler but no luxury what so ever. I feel some of the issues that the voltage originally had have been resolved and upgraded. Our dealership has been excellent to deal with (and patient with me) i might add. I will keep you posted when we finally get it.

- OaklevelExplorerWe have a Puma Unleashed... I hope Dutchman's quality has improved but looking at useded ones they don't hold up well. We have had two Pumas the new one is a Puma Unleashed 356QLB Just my opinion is Puma is the best kept secret for the price.
- mpierceExplorerThanks, TxTiger!
- TxTigerExplorerIf you have the time head west out of Houston on I-10 through San Antonio to Kerrville. Then goes south about 20 miles to Hill Country Resort and Event Center. My favorite place in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Large live oak covered rv sites at great prices. That area is mostly about country, wildlife and views. If looking for more things to do, go north from Kerrville to Fredericksburg. Very visitor friendly, great wineries. All of that area is a really beautiful part of Texas. Enjoy your trip.
- mpierceExplorerDallas, then down to Houston area for a bit, then not sure!
