Fresh water leak help

2014 Jayco Eagle 34.5 BHTS

I have a leak of my fresh water system when I'm connected to city water or the system is pressurized. It looks like it's coming out from the panel behind and just above where the fresh water plugs in - behind the outdoor shower faucet controls. RV service in this area is "glacial speed" at best so I'd rather tackle it myself. I'm not afraid of simple repairs. Can't figure out how to include a pic right now, but you can see them on the Jayco Forum linked here:

So, any thoughts on what's going on and how to get in there? TIA
  • Probably one of the pex fittings is leaking. All you can do is take apart anything to get to it once you are sure where it is.
  • Usually there is some luan paneling covering that area from your 'basement or garage'. I've removed my paneling for quick access and a little extra special storage. Remember, these things are assembled by methods of simplicity. Someone put it together, you can get it apart. Good luck.
  • I don't no about your Jayco but my outdoor faucet lines are located behind my kitchen sink draws so I have to take out the draws to get to them. The fittings may just need to be tightened as said and they all should be checked because they loosen up some times when traveling...EDIT..I don't have a FW.
  • Had the same problem on our Sundance, the outside shower lines were located in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. Never could get it to stop so I just pulled the lines off and caped the main lines.
  • Super common place for leakage is right on the backside of where the city water attaches. I think the fittings are tightened by a little old lady at the factory. I've had this exact point leak on my last 2 new trailers and a friend had his leak on is new trailer (2 Keystones, 1 FR). There should be panels that can be unscrewed to reach the connection and hand tighten it.

I agree, and on my Montana I left the panel undone, it stays in place, and I can get behind it without having to mess around. The water pump on mine is also behind that panel

I too had the same leak, and tightened up all the fittings behind the panel, no more issues.
