I just purchased a 2014 Fuzion 331. I own a 2011 2500 hd. What Im wondering is when you load the Garage will it take some weight off the Pin weight? Im going to be tight on Pin weight if not over.
Let us know how it handles. I actually think you will be fine. A dually will certainly add stability but I think you will be okay. Fuzion does have some heavy pin weight. The 331 is a dual axle so it will be a little more effected by toys in the garage than a tripple but we are not talking 500 lbs. level it out with some air bags and give it a tow and post up how you made out - Ric_FlairExplorer
- Maverick1000ExplorerThanks for the input guys. I will getting it weighed in a few weeks as i'm to busy at this time. I will post the weight later.
- afishinadoExplorer IIGonna be interesting to see how you make out. I finally will get mine loaded and weighed this weekend. I'm a bit lighter at 11,000lbs dry, that's all I know at this point. Previous owner pulled it with a 3/4 ton, I want to do the same. This question has been gnawing on me for a month now, can not wait to know what the numbers really are so I can decide which way to go. I really want the SRW, but if I have to live with a dually I will.
Good Luck! - christopherglenExplorerWeight at the ramp will shift more pin weight then weight at the front of the garage. If you are lucky you may get 20% of the garage weight off the pin if you stack it directly at the ramp. Real world 200lbs would be a lot to shift..
- lincsterExplorerToo much trailer, not enough truck.
Only way to know the weights is go to a scale.
My guess is 3600lb pin weight when loaded and full water. - ksssExplorerHaving the garage loaded and full water will help. The water tank is directly under the garage. That is at least a counterweight of 800-900 pounds, plus whatever is in the garage. I will say that I have a 342 that I pull with the 3500 in my signature. That 342 is heavy, it settles my DRW more so than did the 322 that I had before. If your 331 weighs up like my 342 (they are much the same trailer I think, you will be overweight. You certainly will want to use Timbrens or airbags to level it. That wont solve the weight issue however as I am sure that you will still be heavy. You could run it empty and weigh it and then load it up and see what the difference is. I would be interested myself in seeing what the difference is.
The 3500 SRW also has larger tires. - Macman83ExplorerBelieve me when I tell you "been there, done that". My old tow vehicle was a 2000 F350 SWR diesel with airbags, chipped 7.3 power stroke, and upgraded brakes. I pulled my Voltage 3905 three times in the Oklahoma wind and that was enough. My trailer empty on the scales weighs 16,200lbs with a pin weight of 3470lbs., and is 42ft long. The last time I pulled it, I was worn out from keeping it in the lane. Everyone told me I should be fine and the truck could handle it, but that was not the case. Now its an F450 that does a fine job.

I just don't want a dully long box. Anyway I know im going to be over on the Pin.By how much? I quess time will tell. Funny thing is the 3500 srw has the identical power tran, axles with only one more spring.
And a higher payload. - fj12ryderExplorer IIIOur Fuzion 383 only takes about 80 lbs. off the hitch when we put 1200 lbs. in the garage.
It all depends on how much you put in the garage, where the majority of the weight is positioned, how heavy the toyhauler is totally, etc., just too many variables to say.
