I have had a gasoline Onan in our fiver for ten years. The reason we went with gas was really the availability of gasoline. Before I installed the genny I was wavering either way. But dry camping beside someone at Indianapolis Speedway that had a LP genny made my mind up. There was a gas and go joint just up the street from where we were parked, open 24/7, gas anytime. The nearest propane pumping station was 8 miles and of course limited pumping hours. And since when we dry camp, the water heater, refers, and cooking are using propane and I didn't want the propane consumption rate of the genny affecting those things. But a LP genny will not gum up like the gasoline gen set will if left unused for a long period of time. And this "shortage" of propane now in some areas sheds some other light on the decision.
