Height Issue

My recently purchased 5th wheel is rated at 149 inches tall. My shed door opening is 145 inches. The floor in the shed is concrete. The side walls of the shed are 168 inches. There is plenty of room to raise the door opening, but that will not be cheap. The obstruction on the 5er's roof is the AC. I am looking for low cost suggestions......Thanks in advance.
  • A low profile AC unit is something I had not thought of, good idea. I will look into that option. I did contemplate the tire pressure solution, but that will not completely solve the issue. Thanks again for the thoughtful reply's....
  • Low profile a/c are about 9 inches high compared to 13 or 14 for standard. Had to change mine. Sold original a/c on craigslist.
I see the carrier above is only 7.5"...even better.
  • would this be enough?

  • If you only needed an inch, I would have told you to lower the pressure in your tires to gain the needed clearance. Since you need 4" of extra clearance, you could consider removing the AC unit when you want to put your rig away for the year. It sounds a little extreme but I believe it is only 4 fasteners. I spoke with a gentlemen at the Crossroads factory rally this summer who has done this for years and it hasn't created any leak or performance issues with the AC unit.
