I, too, would want to investigate why the equalizer system was letting one axle show 1,000 more than the other.
My 35 footer is 2" high at the nose and the axles are within 350 pounds of each other. (More than one trip across the scales.)
Keep in mind that a couple of inches nose up tracks better than a couple of inches nose down (in most cases).
