Honda EU2000 propane conversion

Has anyone tried the Honda EU2000 propane conversion kit?

  • I converted mine and installed it in the generator compartment of the Riverstone. Since I already had the generator and just need enough power to run the residential refrigerator and our CPAP machines while spending the night at a rest area or truck stop, I opted to convert the Honda and placing it in the already installed generator box. I piped it into the existing gas line and installed an exhaust/cooling air hood I bought off of Ebay and vented it to the outside with aluminum flex piping and cut fresh air intake ports in the bottom of the compartment. So far it has worked great for us.

:B The next question is why would you want to?

Although probably not as efficient, propane burns cleaner and you don't have to be concerned with having to buy "good" gas (non-reforumalted) for it and there's treating gas with Seafoam or Stabile to insure it will start later.

  • Not sure what "kit" you mean... US Carb, or?

(I prefer Maine Diesel - send 'em your carb, returned "converted" with regulator, and necessary parts).

Converted my Yam 2400is to tri-fuel - with no intent to ever run it again on gasoline.

Works great for me - nat gas at home, propane (in needed) "on the road".

No problems *ever* with contaminated or "old" gasoline, no need for Seafoam or StaBil.

BTW - you might take your question to the Tech Forum (or ask the mod to move it) - as *everything* generator is there.
