I currently have a Cedar Creek 36CKTS which when loaded with a couple of weeks worth of stuff weighs about 15K- 3k is on the hitch and 12k on the axles according to the scale. I'm pulling it with a F350 SRW and I am still below max and haven't had any issues.
We are looking at another trailer and it dry weighs a little over 19K and maxes at 23K I think (I'm pretty close). I know we have gone over the 350 SRW and are still below a 350DRW but.........................
For those who have pulled 20-22K 5th wheels is a 350DRW really enough truck?
We tow and camp about 100 nights a year? We take 1 or 2 trips a month both for pleasure and for business. About to leave on a 3 week trip towing the trailer a little over 2k miles.
Thank you
Definitely a 350/3500 dually for that big a trailer, and a very late model one, at that. I'm no MOPAR fan, but the new Rams are beasts. They're pretty much in the Freightliner Sport Chassis class in a "traditional" pickup, IMO.
Look for pics of NC Hauler's rig. Really nice.
