IIRC the new Ford F-450 DRW can pull something like 33,000# and carry around 5000# that would be the minimum I'd consider for a load that heavy. I don't see how you stay within payload limits on your current truck.
I would hope it has a higher payload capacity than 5000 lbs. Our Ram 3500 has a 5,440 lb payload capacity even with its artificially limited 14,000 lb GVWR (maximum limit of a Class 3 truck) - the sum of its axle weight ratings is 15,750 lbs.
I thought I saw a post that the 33,000 lb towing capacity was for gooseneck trailers - 5th wheel towing capacity would be 27,500 lbs. A limitation of the factory puck system or ???? Perhaps I'm wrong, but that's what I'm remembering....

the 2016 F450 is 31,200 (GN) or 26,500 (FW), as u mention, due to the hitch itelsef, not the chassis.

Problem with the Ford puck system is that the base is about 2/3 the =length= of the Ram and GM versions. That longer footprint gives the Rams and GMs more capacity on the pin. Never having seen any of them, I can only gauge by pics shown here.
