Reality is we actually tow about 20 days a year and spend about 100 nights a year in the trailer and getting even a 1 ton dually would be a big PIA the other 345 days of the year not to mention a MDT or HDT.
We might need to be in the market for a Class A and tow a 1/2 ton behind it.
I am not a happy camper.
A nice used HDT (Volvos are real common) can be had for about half what a new 350/3500 truck would cost. Conversion to a single axle isn't too bad. From what I've read, once you sell the unneeded axle and suspension parts, it's almost a wash. Put a Smart car deck behind the cab and you're set to go. :-)
